You better believe that when it comes to being busy Present Minds bought their A-game with frequent shows, shoots, and studio sessions. We cannot wait until you are all able to see the finished product. The excitement is too real!







We recently shot the videos for both our new song 'grow up' and our fire in the streets which should both be out very soon.

Not to mention our cypher and freestyle video. There is never a dull moment with us, we will always be doing something productive. When you don't see us at a show, the chances are we are in the studio or shooting a video - and that's the way it should be.

Open Mic Night

As you know we performed at an open mic this week. If you came out to watch us we're sure you'll agree that the finished product is pretty amazing.

But what many of you don't know is how many hours of preparation and rehearsals go into making a performance as great as you see it on stage.

We like to ensure that no two performances are ever the same and the best way to do this is to freestyle. This tends to be at the start of a performance as part of our introduction and usually takes a very conversational tone in order to keep the atmosphere light and friendly

We usually start off by asking each other "how was your day"

Whether it was:

A day that made you smile

                   

                     OR

A day that left you feeling unimpressed

We'll take it as it comes and then incorporate things we see at each event to spice things up a bit.

From the reception we've been getting we think its fair to say so far so good.

Moments behind the Music

One of the best things about being in a group like ours is getting to work with people that are like family to you. To some that all up in one word - Brotherhood. Some people define brotherhood as people linked by a common interest, but for us its much more than that. It's keeping it real and having each others backs no matter what.



This sequence describes the goings on behind the scenes

These pictures, though none of them taken directly from the shoot, perfectly illustrate our friendship and the everyday moments behind the music . The willingness to cover up for a friend when they're running late, the annoyance you feel when you're given the wrong directions and the acknowledgement that no matter what happens we've one hundred percent got each others backs.

the beauty of being brothers is that even when we get on each others nerves take the banter too far or even give each other the wrong directions (Diamond) :P, we know that at the end of the day its all love. (Be sure to check out our Facebook page for the full story)

Back to school we go.

Having a present Mind is about being open enough to learning new things, live new experiences and create new memories. It's the ability to realise that yesterday's knowledge will not solve today's problem and ironically keep your mind in the present. The new academic year is the perfect time for a fresh start.

"Inspire before you expire" ---  Diamond

The time when the music with substance finally hits the charts, the time to make new friends (or regulate the ones you have) or even the time to realise that girl you've been kicking it with all summer has no personality. No matter what it is that you'redoing a new year equals new beginnings.

This is the time when the real work begins.
